BORN: A Christian Roleplaying Game
A downloadable Christian tabletop rpg

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and time to die…”
Answer the Call.
BORN is a tabletop roleplaying game where you become a Witness, a hero called to a greater purpose. Wield scripture-inspired abilities, navigate challenges of faith and doubt, and forge a personal testimony of trial and redemption. This isn't just a game about what you do, but who you become.
In BORN, you will:
- Create a unique character with one of five divine Callings, like the justice-seeking Judge or the visionary Prophet.
- Wield scripture-inspired abilities called Keystones to overcome challenges of mind, body, and spirit.
- Engage with a world that tests your faith through temptation, spiritual opposition, and human conflict.
- Collaborate with your friends to tell a powerful story of struggle and the transformative power of the Gospel.
The BORN System
At its heart, BORN is a Thematic Game about a character's internal spiritual journey. While other games focus on exploring a world or pulling off a heist, BORN's mechanics are uniquely tuned to explore concepts of faith, sin, struggle, and redemption. Every roll of the dice and every point spent is an allegory for the theme.
Design Approach: The Middle Ground
BORN sits in an effective middle ground between Traditional RPGs (GM-led) and Narrative-First RPGs (rules drive the story conversationally).
- It retains the traditional flow of the Scribe (GM) setting scenes and challenges being resolved continuously, giving the Scribe immense flexibility.
- It incorporates modern narrative tools to keep the focus on roleplaying and internal conflict.
Mechanics: Dice and Stuff
- Success Counting Dice: BORN uses a Success Counting model where you count how many dice are 4 or higher against a preset Challenge Grade. This is a critical distinction: against difficult challenges, every die in your pool matters intensely. This makes character progression feel weighty and tactical.
- Structured and Archetypal Characters: Your power comes from your Calling and your Keystones, which are explicitly linked to scripture. This curated approach provides immediate thematic weight and clarity, keeping the game focused and coherent.z
BORN is more than a game; it's an opportunity for fellowship, a catalyst for discussion, and a new way to engage with the greatest stories ever told.
Join the Fellowship!
The most profound part of the journey is sharing it. As you step out to face your trials, remember that you are not alone; you are part of a growing fellowship of Witnesses. We invite you to bring your story, your questions, and your creativity to our community, where we share resources, discuss the rules, and foster a spirit of collaborative discipleship through play.

Thanks Brother/Sister
I Think this may be an interesting tool to get some friends interacticing with scripture and engaging in something they are familiar with in a new space.
God bless you <3
Thanks a bunch for the encouragement!
You have definitely nailed a primary goal in the creation of this game. I plan to get some videos on gameplay next month. So stay tuned.
Also check out the discord server for updated information and where you'll find a virtual dashboard to manage and create characters for the game.
Peace be with you!
